Made my first loaf ...it looked good and tasted great
The mother didn’t take long to start working, I’ve put some aside in my freezer..... just in case.
Took a couple of feeds to get going, so the first few loaves were really slow to rise but now it's great. The flavour is awesome!
It is all promises. I am an experienced conventional bread maker - been making our daily bread for the last 2-3 years. I have made two batches of sourdough and I am still learning. Current mistakes are leaving the dough too long waiting for the final rise to finish which I think has led to a yeasty/malty flavour and not making enough dough for the bread tin I use - sourdough is denser than ordinary bread dough

Have yet to use it in bread but it smells alive.

I needed a bit more information than was around the plastic pot as to what to do with the sourdough so I checked on the Wessex Mill site and printed out the recipes. My first attempt was tasty and rose well but took ages to get a loaf from start to finish. The second attempt looked better but didn't taste as good. I froze the rest till I have time to face it again.
Perfect condition and gave excellent results in my sourdough bread
I believed that this would be ready to use but it was not yet active or soured enough, next time l will make my own
MY have been me as I also tried to make my own from the instruction the web site. Initially a success but also managed to kill that off too. I'll try in a week or so
